Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.
• Maintain maintenance records and parts usage.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to priority repairs.
• Ensure safety compliance during work and follow procedures.
• Respond to breakdowns and provide timely solutions.
• Stay updated with equipment technology and maintenance practices.

Power up your Career: Join us as a Plant Mechanic. We are delighted to be creating a brand-new Plant Mechanic position as part of the continued growth of our equipment rental business. As Plant Mechanic you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy machinery, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment, including powered access machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using specialised tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and prioritise equipment repair needs.
• Effectively manage time and resources to meet maintenance schedules and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting issues, and implementing timely solutions.
• Communicate with supervisors and operators to understand equipment performance issues and gather relevant information for repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during maintenance and repair work.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments in equipment technology and maintenance techniques.
  

What You Will Need

• Previous experience working as a plant mechanic in the repair of plant and equipment or similar.
• Good all-round mechanical skills.
• Experience working on diesel engines.
• Leaving Cert or equivalent.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and produce safe, high-quality work.
• Highly organised with the ability to communicate effectively.
• IT proficient to record jobs electronically.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 5pm & Friday 7.30am – 4pm, 41.5 hrs per week
