Job summary

Ingenio Global is seeking an experienced Mobile Core Network Test Engineer to join a complex, carrier-grade mobile network environment in Ireland. This hands-on contract role focuses on testing software and hardware upgrades, new service introductions, integration activity and end-to-end testing across 2G, 3G, 4G/VoLTE and 5G.

You will work with engineering, operations and vendor teams through planning, execution, troubleshooting and final validation, covering MSC/MGW, HLR/HSS, STP and IMS

Qualifications

• Hands-on testing of Mobile Core Network
• Experience with 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE/5G testing across upgrades and deployments
• Strong understanding of telecom signalling and call flows

Responsibilities

Ingenio is currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Core Network Test Engineer to join a complex, carrier-grade mobile network environment in Ireland.

This is a hands-on contract opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the heart of mobile network technology, supporting software and hardware upgrades, new service introductions, integration activity and end-to-end testing across 2G, 3G, 4G/VoLTE and 5G environments.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in ensuring network changes and new services are thoroughly tested, validated and ready for production.

Working closely with engineering, operations and vendor teams, you’ll be involved throughout the testing lifecycle — from planning and execution through to troubleshooting, defect resolution and final validation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and executing testing for software and hardware upgrades
• Testing the introduction of new network services
• Performing functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing
• Conducting pre- and post-change validation
• Troubleshooting failed test scenarios and identifying root causes
• Analysing signalling, network traces and call flows
• Documenting test results and raising and tracking defects
• Collaborating with engineering, operations and vendor teams
• Supporting the validation of changes across complex Mobile Core and IMS environments

Technical Environment

We’re particularly interested in engineers with experience across several of the following Mobile Core and IMS components:

• MSC / MGW
• STP
• HLR / HSS
• EDA
• DRA / DEA
• MTAS
• CSCF
• SBG
• BGF

Experience across multiple platforms or vendors would be advantageous.

What We’re Looking For: (You’ll ideally bring)

• Strong hands-on experience in Mobile Core Network testing
• Experience across 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE, VoLTE and/or 5G
• Proven experience testing network upgrades and new service deployments
• A strong understanding of telecom signalling, call flows and network architecture
• Experience with technologies such as SIP, Diameter, SS7 and SIGTRAN
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within a telecom operator, network vendor or carrier-grade environment
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical stakeholders
