Job summary

Glanua is seeking a MEICA Project Engineer to lead on-site execution of water/wastewater projects in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. The role requires a strong teamwork approach, HSQE compliance, and coordination with suppliers and sub-contractors to deliver on time and within budget.

You will prepare Method Statements, manage testing, and support handover with O&M documentation. A Level 7 Engineering degree and 2+ years of related experience are essential, plus a full driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in water/wastewater.
• Minimum of a Level 7 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.
• Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
• Ability to engage with suppliers and sub-contractors at procurement stage and in the delivery of their scope of supply.
• Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise during project delivery.
• Good working knowledge of MS packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good working knowledge of GPS, Total Station and CAD.
• Strong communication skills and motivation.
• Full driving licence

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team in delivering one or more projects while embracing a 'one team' ethos.
• Ensure HSQE standards, policies and procedures are adhered to on-site.
• Familiar with HSQE management system and current statutory requirements.
• Be available to cover for the project manager and manage day-to-day site operations.
• Understand project programme and budgets and impact of overruns.
• Prepare and submit Method Statements and Risk Assessments before work.
• Ensure delivery aligns with quality procedures and testing/commissioning requirements.
• Prepare handover files including O&M Manuals, Safety Files and As Constructed Drawings.
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors; select vendors for delivery and procure materials.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and site team.
• Lead weekly site meetings and plan safe, efficient delivery.
• Interact with employer representatives and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and adjust workflows to meet completion dates.
• Continue CPD and develop within the organisation.
