Job summary

MatchMedics is excited to partner with a leading Irish healthcare organisation to appoint a Medical Director (MICGP) with a specialist interest in Women’s Health. This Dublin-based, hybrid role combines high-level clinical leadership with strategic service development, policy influence, and national impact on women’s health services.

Qualifications

• MICGP qualification with Specialist Registration in General Practice (Ireland).
• Minimum four years post-specialist experience, including time in Ireland.
• Strong leadership with ability to mentor and develop teams.
• Family Planning Certification and LARC certification.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Healthcare Management or Leadership or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership to an experienced team of doctors and nurses.
• Drive service innovation, quality improvement, and strategic development initiatives.
• Balance hands-on clinical practice with executive management responsibilities.
• Support, mentor, and develop healthcare professionals across the organisation.
• Contribute to education, advocacy, media engagement, and public awareness initiatives.

MatchMedics is delighted to partner with one of Ireland's most respected and progressive healthcare organisations in the appointment of a Medical Director (MICGP) with a specialist interest in Women's Health.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Specialist GP to combine clinical excellence with strategic leadership in a role that will directly influence the future of women's healthcare services nationwide.

As Medical Director, you will lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team, shape service development, contribute to policy and advocacy initiatives, and continue to provide specialist clinical care within a modern Dublin city-based setting.

The Opportunity

As Medical Director, you will:

• Provide clinical leadership to an experienced team of doctors and nurses

About You

To be considered, you will have:

• MICGP qualification and Specialist Registration in General Practice with the Irish Medical Council
• A minimum of four years' post-specialist experience, including experience gained in Ireland
• A strong clinical interest and demonstrated commitment to women's health
• Family Planning Certification and LARC certified
• Excellent leadership, communication, mentoring, and decision‑making skills
• A patient‑centred approach and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, compassionate care
• Additional qualifications in Women's Health
• Postgraduate qualifications in Healthcare Management, Leadership, or a related field

Please note: Candidates must be available to commence the role in December 2026.
