Job summary

Apleona UK in Cork is recruiting a Full-time Mechanical Technician for Carrigtwohill. Shift pattern: Monday to Sunday, 42 hours per week.

You will perform daily maintenance of mechanical equipment, collaborate with Electrical/Multiskilled Technicians, ensure proper documentation, and uphold a strong safety culture with energy-efficiency goals.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years as qualified Tradesmen.
  • Experienced working in a similar environment.
  • Experience with AHU, FCU, pumps, BMS and sprinklers.
  • Experience in a professional team-based office environment.
  • Experience communicating with clients/customers and delivering excellent service.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Strong administrative, coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Daily maintenance of mechanical equipment on-site.
  • Report problems to Facilities Engineer.
  • Coordinate with Electrical/Multiskilled Technicians to maintain multi-disciplinary equipment.
  • Maintain documentation and records.
  • Respond to service calls logged with the facilities help desk.
  • Ensure subcontractors follow safety and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Record inspections and energy efficiency practices.
  • Support energy reduction recommendations on plant operations.

Job description

We are currently recruiting Full-time Mechanical Technicians to join our team in Carrigtwohill,Cork

Working Pattern: Shift Work: Monday to Sunday, 42 hours per week

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Effective daily maintenance of all Mechanical equipment on-site.
  • Reporting of existing or potential problems with equipment to Facilities Engineer.
  • Working with Electrical/Multiskilled Technicians to effectively manage/maintain multi-disciplinary equipment.
  • Effective maintenance of non-Mechanical equipment
  • Ensure all facilities–related maintenance documentation is completed properly, filed and accessible.
  • Provide information about facilities as required/authorised.
  • Respond to service calls logged with the facilities help desk.
  • Professional greeting to clients/staff to generate a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Ensure all subcontractors on-site are working within the agreed permit-to-work system.
  • Ensure all sub-contractors understand reported problems and fully conduct service visit or callout works.
  • Ensure subcontractors apply all safety precautions and ensure best practice is performed.
  • Reporting subcontractors present to Facilities Engineer and report outcome of service visits / callouts.
  • Working effectively with other Operations functions to fully complete client requests
  • Use of email system to receive, understand and sign-off works orders.
  • Use of spreadsheets/logbooks etc to record information as agreed with the Facilities Engineer.
  • To conduct and record daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, six-monthly and annual inspections of equipment.
  • To report faults, errors, miss-readings etc found for further testing.
  • Adopt culture and awareness of Salesforce site sustainability and energy efficiency targets/goals
  • Perform site tasks to ensure plant is ran in its most efficient manner
  • Provide energy reduction recommendations on plant operations
  • Goal Zero – Embed EHS as a way of doing business. Enforce a zero tolerance to unsafe working practices to target a goal zero accident rate.
Qualifications and experience:
  • 5+ years as qualified Tradesmen
  • Experienced working in similar working environment
  • Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Water Circulating Pumps, BMS, Sprinkler Systems
  • Experience of working in a professional team-based office environment
  • Experience of communicating with Clients/Customers and providing excellent customer service
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical systems
  • Strong administrative, coordination and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and availability to work overtime
