Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Dublin 1 seeks a Mechanical/H.V.A.C. Technician for a 6 over 7 shift. You will carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive works on HVAC systems, ensuring equipment operates to CBRE standards. The role includes after-hours on-call with transport allowances.

Trade qualified mechanical or refrigeration technician with strong English, good communication, and ability to work safely and with teams is required. Training in BMS and CMMS is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical or refrigeration required.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience with maintenance CMMS and BMS systems recommended.

Responsibilities

• Rotational day shift on site, 6 over 7 days (Mon–Sat, 7am–7pm).
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive works on HVAC/Mechanical systems.
• Participate in after-hours on-call roster with transport/allowance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records (Frontline logs, logbooks).
• Oversee vendor service visits and ensure CBRE standards.
• Develop safe working practices with method statements and risk assessments.

Mechanical/ HVAC Technician (Shift)

(6 OVER 7 Rotation shift)

Role Purpose:

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management, are recruiting a Mechanical / H.V.A.C. Technician to join the team located in Dublin 1.

To carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works to client Mechanical, Heating, ventilation & Air-Conditioning Systems in accordance with agreed service levels.

Primary Objectives and Tasks:

• This Role is a rotational day shift position on site, covering 6 over 7 days Monday -Saturday 7am - 7pm Week 1 = 4 days Mon-Thurs. Week 2 Thurs-Sat = 3 days
• HVAC & Mechanical maintenance Technician Onsite.
• After hours On call roster participation is required for this position with transport and allowance available during your week on call.
• Be proficient with onsite asset management system (REALM).
• Work closely with the Permit / Technical Administrator.
• Responsible for correct operation of equipment and on time PPM maintenance tasks performed within the rotating shift teams and scheduled equipment availability.
• Take ownership of PPM schedule, repairs, and parts ordering and sourcing.
• Oversee Vendor service and repair visits as point of contact and ensuring tasks are completed to CBRE standards. Review reports and highlight any issues for escalation and scheduled repairs.
• Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of “Frontline" task sheets and update Log books associated with Mechanical & HVAC systems.
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices.
• To develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE Managed Services staff and clients staff.
• Hands on service and repairs works with a view to mentoring junior technicians and non-technical staff.
• Work closely with Facilities team in dealing with Client requests / work orders for timely close out and resolution of issues relating to Mechanical & HVAC systems.
• Ensure a professional image of CBRE Managed Services is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.
• Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.
• A flexible approach is required for the consistent and high standard of service CBRE provide.
• At times technical upskill will be required for on-site equipment such as BMS, fire alarm lighting controls and various equipment operational systems and devices.

Accountabilities

• Accountable to Contract Engineering Manager.
• Operate as system champion for assigned responsible equipment within your scope and understanding.
• The post holder does not have any directly reporting staff.
• This post carries no direct budgetary responsibility

Core Competencies:

Education

Trade Qualified Mechanical or Refrigeration technician, must have good written and spoken English and basic P.C skills.

Full clean drivers licence.

Training

• Formally trained in mechanical building services & H.V.A.C maintenance.
• Basic skills of building management control systems is an advantage (BMS).
• Formal health and safety understanding - training (Desirable)
• Experience
• Experience of maintaining Pumps, Motors AHU’s FCU’s heating and cooling systems.
• Experience of operating and the use of maintenance CMMS & BMS and system.
• Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations with regard to maintenance activities and on site logbooks. (Desirable)
• Working knowledge of statutory and regulatory equipment and testing requirements (Desirable)
• Maintenance level electrical competency ( Required )
• F-Gas certification (Distinct advantage).

Circumstances

• Full Clean Drivers Licence for use of Company Van or access to own Vehicle For OOH callout’s.
• Able to attend the site location within one hour of notification to participate in out-of-hours rostered stand-by and call-out procedures.
