Job summary

Omega is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Technician / Engineer for a permanent day-shift role in the Dublin North area. The suitable candidate will maintain, improve and optimise plant performance in a busy production and packaging environment.

The role emphasises fault-finding, planned and reactive maintenance, with a focus on reliability improvements and OEE. Monday–Friday with no night shifts and an attractive pension and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanical fitter or equivalent craftsperson/engineer training.
• Experience in manufacturing maintenance and plant equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Carry out root cause analysis and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain and update maintenance records and CMMS data.
• Support reliability and uptime improvements across the production line.
• Collaborate with production to meet performance targets.
• Follow health and safety guidelines on site.

The Opportunity - Mechanical Maintenance Technician / Engineer

As part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining, improving and optimising plant performance across a busy production and packaging operation.

You will support both planned and reactive maintenance activities whilst contributing towards reliability improvements, continuous improvement projects and overall equipment effectiveness.

This role will suit an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and being actively involved on the factory floor.

• Strong attitude towards health & safety
• Ability to work independently and within a team
