The Opportunity

Linkedskills is recruiting an experienced Line Technical Lead for a leading FMCG Manufacturing Organisation in Dublin.

This is a senior, hands‑on engineering role responsible for packaging equipment performance, preventative maintenance, reliability, technical standards, and continuous improvement.

You will act as a technical expert for critical production equipment, leading maintenance activities and working closely with Engineering, Operations and Process teams to improve safety, reliability, efficiency and overall line performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical expert for critical packaging and production equipment.
  • Develop deep expertise in key machinery such as fillers, blowers, seamers, and labellers.
  • Develop, review and continuously improve maintenance standards and plans.
  • Create, manage, and validate three‑month, six‑month, and annual preventive‑maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance, cleaning, inspection activities, and major equipment overhauls.
  • Own equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance costs.

  • Lead risk assessments, isolation procedures and LOTO compliance.
  • Promote safe working practices across all maintenance activities.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified, time‑served Fitter or Electrician.
  • Three to five years’ experience in a comparable production or manufacturing position.
  • Strong practical knowledge of high‑speed packaging or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience leading planned maintenance, major overhauls and equipment‑improvement activities.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding capabilities.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous‑improvement programmes.
  • Understanding of maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability and OEE.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance resources.

A higher qualification in mechanical, electrical or automation engineering is desirable but not essential.

Candidate Profile

You will be an experienced engineering professional who can combine hands‑on technical ability with planning, leadership and continuous improvement.

You must be confident taking ownership of equipment reliability, maintenance standards, costs and performance. You should also be able to develop operators and technicians while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

This is not a general facilities‑maintenance position. Applicants must demonstrate directly relevant manufacturing, production‑line or packaging‑equipment experience.
