Job summary

Talent-Curve is seeking a Mechanical Estimator in Cork to drive pricing for mechanical packages and related piping/HVAC works. You will perform take-offs, prepare budgets, and craft commercial proposals from enquiry to tender submission.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering or QS background with extensive estimating software experience. The role offers hybrid working options and a clear career path into commercial management.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 25 years' experience pricing mechanical building services, process utility piping, or industrial fabrication packages.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and technical pricing of mechanical packages, high-purity piping, and HVAC installations from initial enquiry to final tender return.
• Conduct detailed material take-offs and compile comprehensive cost estimates, project budgets, and commercial proposals.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate competitive pricing with equipment suppliers and specialized subcontractors.
• Identify potential project risks and implement value engineering solutions to maximize project profitability and margin protection.
• Track project variations, update cost control metrics, and support commercial teams during final account settlements.
• Interface directly with clients, developers, design teams, and senior management to present technical bid submissions.

Due to a heavily bottlenecked project pipeline and continuous contract wins, they are seeking a motivated Mechanical Estimator to join their Cork commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and technical pricing of mechanical packages, high-purity piping, and HVAC installations from initial enquiry to final tender return.
• Conduct detailed material take-offs and compile comprehensive cost estimates, project budgets, and commercial proposals.
