Job summary

Talent-Curve is seeking a Commercial Manager (Mechanical) in Cork to lead financial control, reporting, and contract management for major industrial projects. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, track project economics, and deliver executive updates to stakeholders.

The role requires a degree in a relevant field and 8+ years in heavy industrial contracting, with proficiency in MS Excel, Primavera P6, Power BI, and ERP tools. Flexible relocation for European projects may be needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• 8+ years in heavy industrial contracting with large-scale piping, biopharma, semiconductor, or process infra projects.
• Advanced Excel and enterprise planning/costing tools such as P6, Power BI, SAP or EcoSys.

Responsibilities

• Manage project financial cycle from award to final account to protect margins.
• Cross-reference timelines with variations and build automated Power BI reports.
• Oversee change management workflows to value scope changes and subcontractor deviations.
• Deliver financial risk briefs and strategic updates to senior leadership and clients.

Core Responsibilities

• Financial & Budgetary Control: Manage the complete project financial cycle from initial contract award right through to final account resolution, safeguarding project margins and tracking resource efficiency.
• Unified Progress Tracking: Cross-reference operational timelines (utilising Primavera P6) with commercial variations, building out automated visual reporting tools through Power BI.
• Contractual Variations: Oversee robust change management workflows to verify, document, and accurately value all scope changes and subcontractor deviations before final approval.
• Executive Updates: Act as the primary commercial point of contact, delivering high-level financial risk briefings and strategic updates during senior leadership and client status reviews.

Profile Requirements

• Qualifications: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent technical field.
• Industry Background: Minimum of 8+ years within heavy industrial contracting, with proven exposure to large-scale piping, biopharma, semiconductor, or process infrastructure projects.
• Technical Software: Advanced mastery of MS Excel alongside direct exposure to enterprise-level planning and costing tools (such as P6, Power BI, SAP, or EcoSys).
• Flexibility: Fully willing to adjust location based on major European project delivery demands.
