Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the Central Engineering team on major Irish and international projects, including data centres, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and industrial facilities.

You will lead mechanical activities from pre-construction to commissioning, review designs, coordinate with clients and BIM teams, and oversee HVAC, critical cooling, plumbing and fire protection systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or equivalent)
• 7–10+ years' post-graduate experience
• Building services experience within Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Industrial sectors
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, critical cooling, plumbing and fire protection
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing interfaces

Responsibilities

• Lead and support mechanical engineering activities from pre-construction through commissioning
• Review mechanical designs, specifications and tender documentation
• Identify scope gaps, risks and opportunities for optimisation
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, BIM teams, suppliers and subcontractors
• Lead the design and delivery of HVAC, critical cooling, plumbing and fire protection systems
• Support procurement, technical submittals and equipment selection
• Contribute to value engineering, OSM and constructability reviews
• Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams
• Represent the business at client and consultant meetings

We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the Central Engineering team of a leading European construction and engineering organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale data centre, pharmaceutical, life sciences and industrial projects across Ireland and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support mechanical engineering activities from pre-construction through commissioning
• Review mechanical designs, specifications and tender documentation

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or equivalent / NFQ Level 8)
• 7–10+ years' post-graduate experience
• Building services experience within Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Industrial sectors
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, critical cooling, plumbing and fire protection
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing interfaces
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360, Bluebeam or similar
• Strong communication and technical coordination skills

Chartered Engineer status/progression, commercial awareness, mentoring experience and international project experience are advantageous.
