Job summary

SRG in Kilkenny is seeking a Design Lead for Mechanical Engineering to oversee multidisciplinary design projects in the water sector, guiding a growing team from concept through delivery across Ireland.

You will review mechanical layouts, P&IDs and equipment specs, mentor engineers, liaise with clients, and drive standardisation and continuous improvement within the design function. This permanent hybrid role offers a chance to shape best practices in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Level 8/9 degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven leadership experience managing design teams and project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and process plant layout.
• Proficiency with design tools, modelling software, and engineering calculations.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outputs.
• Practical site exposure advantageous.

Responsibilities
