Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Dundalk, Ireland, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to help design electrical switchgear and related products. You will develop 3D mechanical layouts, prepare production-ready drawings, and support manufacturing, testing, and field activities.

You will collaborate with project managers and the engineering team, travel to client sites as needed, and contribute to the library of standard drawings while maintaining accuracy and quality in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 3rd level degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design of electrical equipment advantageous.
• Proficient with 3D CAD; sheet metal design preferable.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D mechanical designs of electrical switchboards & products for production/fabrication.
• Ensure shop floor drawings are controlled, accurate and easy to follow.
• Support Production/Test to resolve design issues on new and existing products.
• Assist with shop floor operations, site operations and client witness testing as required.
• Report to Head of Engineering and liaise with PMs and Mechanical Design Manager on standard drawings.
• Travel to client sites occasionally to carry out surveys.
