Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd. in Dundalk is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver complete mechanical design solutions for data center projects. You will produce installation drawings, perform load calculations, and develop BMS control panel drawings, collaborating closely with the design team.

The role reports to Head of Design and offers Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm with a competitive salary dependent on experience. This permanent full-time position is based in Dundalk.

Qualifications

Proven experience delivering mechanical design solutions from proposal to installation.
Ability to produce detailed installation drawings and technical schedules.
Experience with AutoCAD and MEP 3D design software.

Responsibilities

Produce detailed installation drawings and plant selections.
Perform heating and hot water load calculations for accurate plant sizing.
Develop BMS control panel drawings and descriptions of operation.
Conduct site surveys to assess services and heating plant options.
Collaborate with contracts managers and commissioning teams to support commissioning and optimise BMS controls.
Engage with design team using AutoCAD and MEP 3D design software.
