Job summary

TE Connectivity seeks a Manufacturing Technician V for night shift in Galway, Ireland. You will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and support engineering in developing and improving production processes while ensuring safe, compliant operations.

The role involves contributing to process improvements, assisting equipment IQ/OQ/PQ activities, and working with cross-functional teams to optimise manufacturing methods and equipment performance.

Qualifications

  • Level 6 Engineering or Chemistry degree or equivalent with 2+ years experience.
  • Experience in Automation, CNC programming and Laser processing is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills; able to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvements with Production Support team.
  • Troubleshoot and improve manufacturing methods and procedures with engineers.
  • Provide technical support for chemical cleaning and effluent treatment; ensure equipment availability and safety.
  • Assist IQ/OQ/PQ of equipment; maintain up-to-date SOPs.
  • Design, specify, test and document production equipment changes.
  • Support preventative maintenance and root-cause analysis; interface with vendors.

Job Overview

The Manufacturing Technician will report directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor and will be responsible for providing engineering support to Manufacturing, and the development of existing and new process technologies.

Job Requirements
  • Work as part of Production Support team to drive process improvements.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers in developing; troubleshooting, standardising and improving existing production methods and procedures.
  • Technical support of a chemical cleaning and associated effluent treatment process, with responsibility for the availability of equipment and Health and Safety in the area.
  • Assist in conducting IQ/OQ/PQ process of equipment. Assist in the creation and maintenance of up-to-date area SOPs.
  • Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements.
  • Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures with an assigned process or area.
  • Assist Engineering in investigating and implementing new production methods and root cause analysis.
  • Interface with a variety of personnel and with outside vendors when necessary while performing the above.
  • Assists in implementing technical improvements under the team's Continuous Improvement program.
Key Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing processes would be an advantage.
  • Candidate must be able to highlight innovative examples of fixture design and manufacture which they have implemented previously.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Motivated to work on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of Medical Device development/manufacture, although not a requirement, may be an advantage.
What your background should look like
  • Level 6 Engineering or Chemistry degree, senior trade or equivalent qualification, preferably with 2 years’+ experience.
  • Experience in Automation, CNC programming and Laser processing would be advantageous.
