Job summary

MSD Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Intern to join our team. This role offers hands-on exposure to a regulated manufacturing environment, supporting problem-solving, troubleshooting, data collection, and process improvement to drive right-first-time execution.

You'll collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Automation, Maintenance and Learning & Development to resolve issues, develop process flow diagrams, update procedures, and ensure adherence to GMP, data integrity

Qualifications

• Currently Pursuing a degree in relevant field.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Good technical written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks.
• Basic analytical skills and comfortable working with data and process information.
• Good computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications.
• Awareness of compliance, quality, and safety expectations in a regulated environment.
• Interest in pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support problem-solving and troubleshooting activities related to manufacturing equipment, processes, and operational issues.
• Assist with data gathering, root cause analysis, and implementation of improvement actions to support right-first-time execution and operational performance.
• Work with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Technical Operations, Automation, Maintenance, and Learning and Development to resolve issues and improve process reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, visual management updates, and actions linked to manufacturing performance.
• Develop process flow diagrams and simple decision aids to improve process understanding and consistency where required.
• Contribute to updates of procedures, work instructions, and training materials where necessary to support manufacturing operations.
• Work in line with site safety, GMP, data integrity, and documentation expectations.
