Job summary

Boston Scientific in Galway is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II on a permanent basis to support daily EO sterilization operations and drive improvement projects. You will lead equipment qualifications, design improvements, and partner with Quality, Facilities and EH&S to ensure safe, compliant production.

The role requires a strong technical background in sterilization, hands-on experience in medical devices, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 8 Major Award ideally in a Materials / Engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years work experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the Ethylene Oxide sterilization systems and cycle validations is an advantage.
• Excellent technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
• Proven ability to work well in a team but also able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience in Ethylene Oxide sterilisation and medical device packaging technologies is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience in medical device, electrical, sterilization or mechanical fields is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily operational support to the Ethylene Oxide Sterilization area while completing improvement projects.
• Champion safety practices and improvements in the area.
• Liaise with other Sterilization Operation sites, Global Sterilization Assurance, Quality, Facilities, Health and Safety, and Material handling teams.
• Represent Galway Sterilization in the BSC global arena.
• Project manage equipment improvement and new cycle projects.
• Serve as equipment SME for troubleshooting, training, and process improvement.
