Job summary

Sonova Group in Tullamore, Ireland is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to turn concepts into robust production solutions. You will design jigs, fixtures and production aids, using CAD tools to take designs from concept through prototyping to manufacturing.

Collaborate with Development, NPI and engineering teams to resolve production challenges, develop prototypes with 3D printing, and document specifications and BOMs for industrialization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years in mechanical design, manufacturing or NPI.
• Strong CAD experience with CATIA, SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Experience designing jigs, fixtures or production aids.
• Knowledge of 3D printing and design for manufacture.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical solutions, jigs and production tools.
• Create detailed CAD designs and drawings through prototyping to production.
• Develop prototypes using 3D printing and other technologies.
• Collaborate with Development, NPI and local Engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Prepare specs, BOMs and documentation for manufacturing.
• Coordinate with external manufacturers and suppliers to meet timelines.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive process improvements.
