Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. You will manage commercial activities, prepare valuations, cost reports, and subcontractor accounts, and oversee contract administration and change control.

The role requires a HND or Degree and chartership progression with RICS/ICES, plus experience in commercial roles. Murphy offers a generous benefits package and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• HND or degree qualification in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in a commercial role (e.g., Assistant QS or QS).
• Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract; NEC preferred, and standard methods of measurement.

Responsibilities

• Aid in internal commercial reporting and other required reports.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full documentation.
• Control cost reports to client with contractually compliant documents.
• Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration, including change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Use cost allocation/coding to satisfy internal and external needs.
• Measure quantities per standard methods of measurement.
• Assist in preparation of project final accounts.
• Draft subcontracts including professional services.
