Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Swords, Co. Dublin, to work with the Transportation & Infrastructure team on a large project near Swords.

The role covers commercial management, procurement, cost control and contract administration across rail and civil works. The successful candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS Accredited), 6+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of PwC forms of contract and TII measurement methods.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics (RICS Accredited).
• Excellent knowledge of PWC forms of contract.
• Excellent knowledge of TII method of Measurement.
• 6+ years of experience.
• Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
• Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of bottom up forecasts at contract award stage.
• Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Drafting of supply chain ITTs including subcontract and professional services terms.
• Ensuring cost to date is accurate and monthly accruals calculated.
• Maintenance of Cost to Complete and Risk analysis Register for projects.
• Preparation of monthly CVR reports and other required project reports.
• Maximising cash position, including WIP control and cash flow improvement plans.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts and final accounts.
• Assist in work winning duties, including technical writing for PQQ responses.
