About the role
Verve is building a new engineering hub in Dublin, and this role will lead the expansion of the Mobile SDK team. You will oversee a global team across multiple locations and build out the local Dublin presence. This position is available at both Manager and Senior Manager levels, depending on your experience and leadership scope. As a key leader, you will be responsible for establishing the team, guiding technical development, and ensuring alignment with company goals. You will work closely with product management, engineering leaders, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SDK solutions that meet business needs. What you'll do
- Lead the establishment and growth of the Dublin Mobile/SDK team, including recruiting talented engineers and setting high standards for technical excellence.
- Manage and mentor engineers across the global Mobile SDK chapter, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting their career development.
- Improve agile workflows, release cycles, and code review processes within the chapter to ensure operational standards are maintained and enhanced.
- Collaborate with Product Management and other engineering leaders to align the platform roadmap with overall business goals and product strategies.
- Ensure technical consistency across Android (.AAR libraries) and iOS (.xcframework targets) development pipelines, preventing feature divergence and maintaining quality standards.
- Lead major platform transformations, such as integrating Google's Android Privacy Sandbox and transitioning to Swift Package Manager (SPM), to keep the SDKs current with industry standards.
- Promote an innovative development environment that leverages generative AI tools like Copilot and large language models (LLMs) to improve testing, debugging, and administrative workflows.
- Oversee the technical quality of SDK solutions, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and performant across multiple platforms and devices.
- Build a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and process improvements within the team.
- Support the Dublin office's growth and integration within the global engineering chapter, helping to establish Dublin as a key hub for mobile SDK development.
- Drive initiatives to improve SDK performance, security, and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Act as a technical leader in the organization, representing the Mobile SDK chapter in cross-functional projects and strategic planning.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of standalone library and mobile SDK compilation, distribution, and lifecycle management, including memory management, thread safety, process lifecycles, and exception handling.
- Experience with continuous delivery models and cloud infrastructure architectures, demonstrating familiarity with modern deployment practices.
- Knowledge of programmatic ad tech, mediation adapter structures, or high-volume mobile monetization is a significant advantage, helping to align SDK development with monetization strategies.
- Willingness to work with both Android and iOS codebases to maintain organizational alignment and ensure cross-platform consistency.
- For Manager level: 6+ years of mobile software engineering experience, with 1-2+ years in formal people management, tech-lead-manager, or team-lead roles. Proven ability to translate complex technical requests into predictable, high-quality outcomes.
- For Senior Manager level: 8+ years of mobile software engineering experience, with 3+ years in dedicated, formal management roles focused on building and scaling mobile engineering teams. Demonstrated success in managing or collaborating with distributed, cross-border engineering teams. Ability to independently manage abstract engineering charters and scale strategic sites.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members, and to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively across different teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

- Familiarity with ad tech and mobile monetization strategies, including mediation and high-volume ad serving.
- Experience with platform transformations such as Privacy Sandbox integration.
