Job summary

Weltec Engineering is hiring a Management Accountant to support the finance function in Ireland. You will deliver accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and commercial analysis, reporting to the Financial Controller. A PQE of 2 years and professional qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with 2+ years’ post-qualification experience in financial or management accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to produce accurate financial reports and dashboards.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and intercompany accounting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Assist in statutory financial statements and year-end audits.
• Provide monthly reporting, KPIs, and commercial analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasts, cash flows, and financial controls.
• Review payables/receivables and payroll processes; improve procedures.

Role Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance function through the delivery of accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and commercial analysis. The role offers broad exposure across the business and provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to develop technical, commercial, and leadership skills within a growing international organisation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate variances and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and KPI dashboards.
• Analyse financial performance and identify trends, commercial risks, and opportunities.
• Monitor overhead expenditure against budget and investigate variances.
• Contribute to annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Review accounts payable, receivable and payroll processes.
• Ensure financial records are complete and accurate.
• Review, develop, and improve financial procedures and systems, implementing process enhancements and automation opportunities.
• Assist with payroll reviews and reconciliations.
• Support compliance with Revenue requirements, VAT, PAYE, RCT, and Corporation Tax obligations.
• Assist with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany recharges.
• Support consolidated reporting requirements across group entities.

Key Skills and Competencies

Essential

• ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA qualified.
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in a financial accounting, management accounting, or similar role.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Desirable

• Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or multinational environments.
• Experience working with Sage or a comparable ERP system.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
