Elk Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a South Kildare-based food manufacturing company. The role is permanent and full-time, focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, read schematics and blueprints, and work well within a team while following health, safety, and sanitation protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Commitment to following health, safety, and sanitation protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to avoid production delays.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly.
  • Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new production equipment.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify maintenance needs and optimize equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and food manufacturing regulations during all maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
