Job summary

Apleona is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Electrical) for our site in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork. The role covers electrical, mechanical and general building maintenance, with fault finding, repairs and preventative work on a range of equipment.

Key duties include using CMMS/CAFM to manage tasks, liaising with service desks, coordinating external engineers when required, and maintaining safe, efficient site operations with a focus on uptime and cost control.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification or diploma in engineering.
• Experience with preventive and reactive maintenance in facilities.
• Familiarity with CMMS/CAFM systems and electrical testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance across electrical, mechanical and general building fabric tasks.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance per CMMS/CAFM instructions.
• Identify and fix equipment issues to maximise uptime.
• Liaise with service desk and supervisor to meet SLA requirements.
• Carry out fault finding and coordinate external engineers as needed.
• Maintain stock, order parts and manage quotes.
• Keep the site safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Provide information for reports and assist with cost reduction initiatives.

Job description

At Apleona, We are always on the lookout for talented and dynamic individuals to join our team. We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to be based at our site in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Carry out a range of technical duties to cover mechanical, electrical, and some general building fabric maintenance, consisting of some general operative tasks
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment as per Plant CMMS / CAFM system
• Identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues to maximise equipment uptime
• Servicing of electrical, mechanical, and non-technical equipment
• Liaise with service desk/supervisor and respond to all non-technical and technical queries promptly to ensure conformance with Service Level Agreement
• Carry out fault finding and repairs to broken down equipment, contact and coordinate service engineers where external assistance is required
• Keep all business unit leads informed and updated in relation to equipment issues
• Liaising with department engineers and other support personnel to identify and solve problems
• Assist with the drive for 'Cost Reduction Initiatives' across the site, from ideas to implementation.
• Be willing to take on and familiarize with all relevant site systems as deemed necessary
• Assist with all queries regarding quotations and purchasing
• Maintain and maximize use of client CMMS / CAFM system and ensure all works are completed and closed within the agreed timeframe
• Sourcing and stocking of spare parts as required to ensure minimum stock levels maintained in accordance with client requirements
• Provide relevant information to assist with the generation of reports
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and legislative requirements
• Report of any accident, incidents and out-of-place findings to the client/line manager
• Always maintain the workshop and maintenance stores areas in a tidy condition
• Scheduled regularly to provide cover to the site for out-of-hours situations on a rotational basis.
• You may be asked to work overtime to cover out-of-hours work as determined by the Supervisor/client
• The successful candidate must also hold: PPM on all electrical equipment such as. Boilers, Emergency lighting, Motive power, General lighting, Fixed electrical testing, PAT testing, Water & booster pumps, HVAC equipment LV, MV & HV experience

Qualifications and experience

• Electrical Senior Trades or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline
• Experience in the following areas - Utilities / Facilities
• Formal training/certification in the above would be advantageous
• Proven track record in Preventive and Reactive Maintenance in a similar environment
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, and ability to multitask
• Methodical, analytical, and enthusiastic approach to work with good attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
• Must be extremely flexible and have excellent time management and organisational skills
• Well presented with excellent interpersonal skills
