Job summary

Cpl Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer for our manufacturing client in Munster, Ireland. The role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, conducting preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, and supporting manufacturing operations to reduce downtime within GMP/FDA-regulated environments.

You will lead continuous improvement through asset care, 5S, and Lean initiatives, working with Engineering, Contractors, and Equipment Suppliers to drive equipment excellence,

Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting, PLCs, drives, and robotics.
  • Experience with high-speed automated production equipment and vision systems.
  • Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and cleanroom environments.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation faults.
  • Support Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) activities.
  • Improve MTTR and MTBF metrics.
  • Maintain maintenance records through CMMS systems.
  • Provide technical support to designated Value Streams.
  • Minimise production downtime through rapid response to breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Contractors, and Equipment Suppliers.
  • Lead Total Asset Care initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean and 5S programmes.
  • Identify and implement process and equipment improvements.
  • Follow GMP, FDA, Environmental, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment.

Role Overview

The primary purpose of the role is to:

  • Maximise equipment reliability and uptime within assigned manufacturing Value Streams.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Support manufacturing operations by reducing equipment downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement, asset care, and equipment excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, Health & Safety, Environmental, and FDA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation faults.
  • Support Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) activities.
  • Improve Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) metrics.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through CMMS systems.
Manufacturing Support
  • Provide technical support to designated Value Streams.
  • Minimise production downtime through rapid response to breakdowns.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Contractors, and Equipment Suppliers.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Total Asset Care initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean and 5S programmes.
  • Support Manufacturing Equipment Excellence strategies.
  • Identify and implement process and equipment improvements.
Compliance & Safety
  • Follow GMP, FDA, Environmental, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment.
  • Manage contractor compliance and waste disposal practices.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
