Job summary

Parker Stewart, on behalf of a leading multinational medical devices and pharmaceutical manufacturer, is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for a GMP shift role in Co. Longford.

You will join an experienced team, ensuring availability and performance of filling, labeling and packaging equipment in a regulated environment. You'll work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems, own facilities and utilities, and maintain full GMP documentation.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified or degree in engineering.
• 3+ years in manufacturing, ideally pharmaceutical, medical devices or food.
• Hands-on PLC experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens.
• Working knowledge of GMP documentation and QMS.
• Experience with facilities and utilities systems (Boilers, HVAC or similar).
• Availability for shift work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems across production and packaging equipment.
• Work with PLC control systems — Allen Bradley and Siemens.
• Own facilities and utilities — Boilers, HVAC, Coolers, Ultra-low Freezers and associated infrastructure.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance schedules on time, every time.
• Responding to reactive breakdowns and getting equipment back up without cutting corners.
• Keeping maintenance records to full GMP and audit standard.
• Using Maximo CMMS in line with site expectations and reporting requirements.

We're hiring on behalf of a leading multinational medical devices and pharmaceutical manufacturer with a significant and long-established operation in Co. Longford.

The role: You'll join an experienced maintenance team in a fast-paced GMP shift environment, taking full responsibility for the availability and performance of Filling, Labelling and Packaging equipment. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who takes pride in keeping complex production equipment running — and who understands that in a regulated environment, the paperwork carries the same weight as the spanner work.

This role carries a 33% shift premium on top of base salary. Worth doing the sum before you decide — it makes a material difference to the package.

What you'll actually be doing:

• Maintaining Mechanical, Electrical and Pneumatic systems across production and packaging equipment

What we need:

• 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment — ideally pharmaceutical, medical devices or food
• Hands-on PLC experience — Allen Bradley and/or Siemens
• Working knowledge of QMS processes and GMP documentation standards
• Experience with facilities and utilities systems — Boilers, HVAC or similar
• Availability for shift work

Nice to have:

• Filling, Labelling or Packaging line experience
• Ultra-low temperature storage systems

Shift work in a GMP environment, where a line down is a real cost and every record you write gets audited. The technical side is genuinely interesting — complex filling and packaging equipment, live PLC systems, utilities you own end to end. The compliance side is not optional and never will be. The 33% premium is what the shift pattern is worth, and it's why people stay.

Co. Longford — on-site, shift pattern. Permanent. Excellent base salary plus 33% shift premium.
