Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is partnering with an established electronic manufacturing company in Galway to hire a Maintenance Technician. You will ensure reliability, performance and safety of production and facility equipment, while supporting installation, calibration and validation activities.

Highlights include planned, predictive and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting of PLCs and power systems, and applying Lean principles to drive continuous improvement in a technically advanced environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires NFQ Level 6 or a recognised trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical or related Engineering discipline.
  • At least three years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment.
  • Practical knowledge of PLCs, motor drives and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting of industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC power systems, PLCs, motor and servo drive systems, pneumatic equipment and compressed air systems.
  • Interpreting technical drawings and schematics to diagnose equipment faults efficiently.
  • Performing internal equipment calibrations and maintaining accurate maintenance and calibration records.
  • Supporting installation, commissioning, calibration and validation of new and existing equipment, including IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
  • Applying Lean Manufacturing principles and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicating equipment issues effectively during shift handovers, particularly those affecting OEE.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with all company safety procedures.

About Your New Job

As the Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will help ensure the reliability, performance and safety of production and facility equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned, predictive and reactive maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing and facility equipment.

What Skills You Need
