Job summary

Cpl, Grangecastle (Dublin 22), is seeking two Electrical Maintenance Technicians for our food production facility. The role covers maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical equipment across production and packaging areas within a 24/7 operation.

You will join a skilled engineering team, drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and support automation projects. The position offers a competitive base salary, shift allowance, and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical/electronic/automation qualification is essential.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a medium-to-high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC, SCADA and industrial IT systems; SAP advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and automation issues to minimise downtime.
  • Perform electrical compliance checks and support planned shutdowns.
  • Record maintenance activities using CMMS with accurate reporting.
  • Identify improvements to PM schedules and asset care routines.
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to optimise performance.
  • Coach junior technicians and share knowledge across shifts.
  • Support CI initiatives and maintain a safety-first culture.

Maintenance Technicians Electrical (x2) – Food Production

Location: Grangecastle, Dublin 22

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: 24/7 Rotating Shift

Due to continued business growth and internal promotions, the company now has opportunities for 2 experienced electrically qualified Maintenance Technicians to join their high-performing engineering team.

Purpose of the Role

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and installing equipment across the production and packaging areas to ensure optimal plant performance and reliability.

Working within a 24/7 operation, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and best-in-class maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
    • Maintain a safe and organised work area in line with 5S principles.
    • Promote a safety-first culture and report any hazards, incidents, or non-compliances promptly.
  • Technical & Operational
    • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation issues to minimise downtime.
    • Perform statutory and electrical compliance checks, and support planned shutdown maintenance.
    • Record all maintenance activities using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate reporting and job traceability.
    • Identify and implement improvements to PM schedules and asset care routines.
    • Support capital and engineering projects as required.
    • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to optimise performance, yield, and reliability.
    • Contribute to the plant’s Continuous Improvement (CI) and Focused Improvement programmes.
    • Use structured problem-solving tools (5 Whys, RCA) to analyse breakdowns and prevent recurrence.
    • Monitor equipment performance and implement measures to reduce losses and waste.
    • Actively participate in reviews of SOPs, work practices, and maintenance standards.
    • Collaborate effectively within a multi-skilled maintenance team.
    • Coach and mentor junior technicians and share technical knowledge across shifts.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Recognised Electrical, Electronic, or Automation qualification (essential).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a medium-to-high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in food, beverage, or FMCG production highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience working with PLC, SCADA, and Industrial IT systems (Siemens desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, lean manufacturing, and reliability-centred maintenance.
  • Experience using CMMS systems for planning, recording, and tracking maintenance activities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with ERP/CMMS systems (SAP advantageous).
  • Basic commercial awareness, including understanding of cost drivers and budgeting processes.
