Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and estimate labour and material needs.
  • Experience coordinating shutdowns or turnarounds.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate the maintenance planning system.
  • Maintain the planned preventive maintenance programme including job plans.
  • Manage the PPM change control process.
  • Coordinate work scheduling to meet backlog targets.
  • Review incoming work requests for data accuracy and backlog management.
  • Plan corrective maintenance work orders, site visits and resources.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for plant maintenance.
  • Develop KPIs and track PPM compliance and schedule adherence.
  • Plan shutdown activities and detailed work plans.
  • Work with Engineering on asset criticality and maintenance strategies.
  • Promote best-practice and standard work; ensure safety and GMP compliance.

Job description

Summary:

We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Planner to join a global pharmaceutical in Tipperary. The successful candidate will support the planning, scheduling and effective delivery of maintenance activities across the site.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the development, implementation and day-to-day operation of the maintenance planning system.
  • Develop and maintain the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programme, including job plans and maintenance frequencies.
  • Manage the operation and execution of the PPM change control process.
  • Coordinate the work scheduling process to support the achievement of preventive and corrective maintenance backlog targets.
  • Review incoming work requests to ensure data accuracy, correct work type and effective management of corrective maintenance backlogs.
  • Plan corrective maintenance work orders, including site visits, task lists, materials, resources and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical and other specialist contractors to plan maintenance activities requiring vendor support.
  • Support the development and communication of maintenance KPIs, including PPM compliance, overdue PMs, schedule adherence, MTBF and predictive maintenance execution.
  • Plan, estimate and coordinate maintenance and project activities associated with the annual plant shutdown.
  • Develop detailed shutdown work plans and schedules, including materials, tools, equipment, contractor resources and plant availability.
  • Work with Engineering and Reliability teams on equipment criticality assessments and maintenance strategies for new assets.
  • Support maintenance best-practice and continuous-improvement initiatives, including the development of standard work for routine activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are planned in accordance with site safety, GMP, environmental, validation and permit requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Electrical and Instrumentation craft qualification, Mechanical craft qualification, Engineering qualification or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance planning within a pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and managing PPM programmes, maintenance job plans and work schedules.
  • Experience planning corrective maintenance work and coordinating shutdown or turnaround activities.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical installation and maintenance practices, including piping, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Good understanding of safety, GMP, environmental, validation and permit requirements in a regulated site environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and estimate labour and material requirements.
  • Experience working with contractors, vendors, Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Strong planning, organisation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in SAP or a similar CMMS, together with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
