Job summary

Dawn Meats is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our Engineering team in Charleville, Co. Cork.

You will maintain and repair a range of beef processing equipment, ensuring reliability and efficiency of machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be time-served in mechanical, automation & maintenance fitting with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, controls & automation, and electrical installations.

Qualifications

Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with 2+ years post-apprenticeship experience.
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Experience with machines, process equipment, controls, and automation.
Experience in electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance and refrigeration.
Strong written and spoken communication.
Good troubleshooting ability and logical problem solving.
Full driving license.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime and on-call.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and repair of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, packaging equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot faults, implement solutions to minimise downtime.
Collaborate to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
Replace and repair defective components such as motors, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and company policies.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
Complete training and review of SOPs on compliance.
Tackle a wide range of business challenges in a busy maintenance/engineering environment.
