Job summary

The role is located within U.S. Bank’s wholly owned subsidiary, Elavon, which builds tailored payment solutions powered by the latest technology. Three or more days on site are expected at a U.S.

Bank location, with on‑call rotation for production support. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of mainframe COBOL/CICS/DB2 experience, plus knowledge of JCL, batch processing, IBM IDz, and ITSM/Jira tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least five years of experience developing and implementing applications on mainframe platforms.
• Proficiency in COBOL/CICS/JCL with DB2/SQL and batch scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of SDLC; design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions of moderate complexity, significance, and risk.
• Follow best practices of software development including coding standards, detailed testing, thorough documentation, and code reviews.
• Create peer‑reviewed comprehensive technical designs, unit test plans, and test cases.
• Collaborate in team agile ceremonies: Daily Stand‑ups, refinement sessions, sprint planning; provide clear and valuable input to discussions.
• Support colleagues, developers, test engineers, and product owners.
• Review, investigate, and answer internal customer queries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Join a 24x7 On‑Call rota, periodically providing out‑of‑hours support for our mainframe‑based applications.
