Job summary
NTT DATA is seeking an experienced DB2 for z/OS Systems Programmer to join the DB2 Support Team for a large, complex DB2 for z/OS environment. You will deliver technical leadership and operational support across multiple subsystems, ensuring availability, security, and performance while collaborating with security, development and operations teams.
The role offers fully remote possibilities across UK/Europe with occasional Sheffield visits, and requires expertise in DB2 for z/OS, CICS
Qualifications
- Typically 8 to 15+ years of IBM Mainframe Systems Programming experience with a focus on DB2 for z/OS administration and support.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise DB2 environments with multiple subsystems.
- Hands-on experience with DB2 installation, migration, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in Banking/FSI or other mission-critical environments preferred.
- Experience with high-volume OLTP using CICS and DB2.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 for z/OS environments.
- Plan and execute DB2 version upgrades, migrations, and maintenance tasks.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for DB2-based applications.
- Ensure availability, integrity, and performance of DB2 databases.
- Manage DDF and distributed connectivity, backup, recovery, and DR procedures.
