Job summary

Transcat is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator in Ireland (Cork) to manage receipt, handling and dispatch of customer equipment. You will coordinate with couriers, keep precise records, and liaise with the lab team to support efficient calibration workflows.

Essential duties include inspecting incoming items, processing documentation, and ensuring safe, accurate loading and unloading using company vehicles. A full driving licence and strong organisational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, warehouse ops or similar.
• Experience in calibration/engineering/ manufacturing environment is a plus.
• A full valid driving licence is required for vehicle-based pickups/deliveries.
• Strong organisation and time management to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail for records, docs and shipment info.
• Good computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and learning internal systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers and teams.
• Proactive problem-solving to identify and escalate discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to safe handling, quality and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt and dispatch of customer equipment; ensure items are processed and moved through workflow.
• Inspect incoming equipment against documentation; report damages or discrepancies.
• Process equipment in calibration and internal systems; keep records up to date.
• Prepare outgoing equipment for shipment; verify docs, package, label correctly.
• Coordinate shipping with couriers and internal teams for timely collection/delivery.
• Provide customer equipment collection/delivery using company vehicles; load/unload safely.
• Work with Customer Service, Laboratory Coordinator, and calibration staff to ensure smooth flow of equipment.
• Maintain accurate shipping/receiving records and resolve discrepancies.
• Interact professionally with customers during collections/deliveries and report issues to internal teams.
• Safeguard equipment and comply with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve shipping/receiving/logistics processes.
• Perform other duties as required.
