Job summary

CREGG in Ireland is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead and optimise transport operations across three locations and supplier channels. You will ensure safe, cost-effective movement of products to stock locations and production facilities, and oversee outbound deliveries across ROI, NI, and mainland UK.

You will drive cost savings, schedule deliveries, manage 3rd party transport providers, ensure SOPs, and maintain compliance with health and safety standards while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Logistics and/or transport management, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field desirable but not essential
  • Strong experience managing inbound and outbound logistics, including heavy or bulk materials (steel experience advantageous).
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and process improvements in logistics operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and transport/logistics software (TMS/WMS).
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations, health & safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, at all levels within the organisation, with a focus on delivering a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision making
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers and transport contracts.
  • Understanding warehouse operations, inventory management, and production planning is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily transport operations, across 3 stock locations, including scheduling and routing of deliveries, to maximise fuel efficiency and fleet utilisation and minimise costs per load.
  • Ensure accurate and timely deliveries aligned with customer requirements and project schedules.
  • Ensure consistent processes and performance across the logistics and transport function, ensuring standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to.
  • Liaise with production, procurement, and sales teams to align logistics with demand and to optimise loads in terms of weight and routing.
  • Manage inbound raw material deliveries from the 3 stock locations to ensure stock levels are maintained for the production facility.
  • Support project-based deliveries (construction sector) with tight scheduling requirements.
  • Manage delivery queries, minimising any potential delays, and service issues proactively, liaising with the sales team to ensure our customer receive exceptional customer service.
  • Manage relationships with transport providers to optimise our logistic operations, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, health & safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Track, analyse and optimise KPIs by stock location and overall, including: OTIF (On-Time-In-Full delivery, Cost per tonne delivered, Stock location transfer costs).

Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager will lead and optimise our Client’s logistics and transport operations across three locations and direct supplier delivery channels.

The Logistics Manager will ensure the safe, efficient and cost effective movement of products to our Client’s stock holding locations and production facility, as well as outbound customers deliveries across the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and mainland UK.

The Logistics & Transport Manager will focus on minimising logistics costs, optimising delivery times & the management of our Client’s 3rd party fleet network, while maintaining compliance, safety, and service excellence.
