Job summary

Maurice Ward & Co Ltd in Shannon, Co. Clare, is hiring a Business Development Apprentice under the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship. The role blends hybrid learning with practical sales work, including outbound prospecting, client meetings, and proposal preparation.

You will report to the Head of Business Development and gain a Higher Certificate in Logistics (QQI Level 6) on completion. This is a strong start for ambitious sales professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 5 qualification incl. Leaving Certificate.
• English minimum grade O6; Mathematics Foundation level minimum B2 or equivalent.
• QQI Level 5/6 in business, logistics, distribution or supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Generate leads through outbound prospecting, referrals, and market research.
• Follow up on sales leads from partners and internal referrals.
• Build relationships with prospective and existing customers.
• Understand customer logistics requirements and propose tailored solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and tender responses.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and close new business.
• Maintain active sales pipeline and CRM updates.
• Represent Maurice Ward at meetings and industry events.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure excellent onboarding and service.
