Qualifications

• QQI Level 5/6 in business, logistics, distribution or supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Generate leads through outbound prospecting, referrals, and market research.

A leading Art Handling and Transport company, Maurice Ward & Co Ltd, is seeking to hire a Business Development Apprentice under the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship program. A successful candidate will be required to attend classes at MTU Cork Campus from September to May (hybrid learning - online and classroom teaching). Upon completion of the programme, an apprentice will be awarded a Higher Certificate in Logistics at QQI Level 6 (NFQ). Title: Business Development Apprentice (Logistics Associate Apprenticeship). Reporting to: Head of Business Development. Location: Shannon, Co.Clare, Inside Sales / Business Development. Maurice Ward is seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven individual with a strong competitive streak who thrives in a fast-paced sales environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to play a key role in delivering the company's ambitious growth objectives. The successful candidate will be confident, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to build strong relationships and identify new business opportunities. They will be comfortable engaging with prospective clients by phone, video call, and face-to-face, generating new leads, following up on referrals from partners, preparing competitive proposals, negotiating opportunities, and successfully closing new business.

Applicant must meet one of the LAA programme entry criteria

• H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics.
• Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics, and distribution, supply chain management, etc).
• Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
