Job summary

The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is seeking a Linen Supervisor to join the Housekeeping team at Ashford Castle, Cong, County Mayo. You will oversee daily linen operations, ensure supply accuracy, and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and guest comfort in a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Previous linen/housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily Linen Porter team activities.
• Oversee distribution of clean linen and guest supplies to departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock in linen storage areas.
• Monitor linen stock levels and conduct regular inventories.
• Coordinate laundry and linen services across the hotel.
• Train and mentor Linen Porters on procedures and standards.
• Inspect guest floors and linen rooms for cleanliness and safety.
• Support Accommodation with cleaning and deep-cleaning tasks.
• Ensure delivery of stock and supplies to guest areas.
• Report maintenance issues and equipment faults promptly.
• Assist management with scheduling and performance monitoring.
• Promote a positive team culture and uphold health and safety.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities of a Linen Supervisor:

• Supervise, support, and coordinate the daily activities of the Linen Porter team to ensure efficient operation and high standards are maintained
• Oversee the distribution of clean linen, towels, and guest supplies to all departments in a timely and accurate manner
• Ensure all linen storage areas, cupboards, and stock rooms are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety
• Monitor linen stock levels, conduct regular inventories, and liaise with the Accommodation team to maintain adequate stock availability
• Coordinate the smooth flow of laundry and linen services throughout the hotel, ensuring departmental requirements are met efficiently
• Train, mentor, and provide ongoing guidance to Linen Porters, ensuring adherence to hotel procedures and service standards
• Conduct regular inspections of guest floors, linen rooms, and storage areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and operational standards
• Support the Accommodation department with cleaning and deep-cleaning projects as required
• Ensure stock, linen, and accommodation supplies are delivered to guest floors and service areas as required
• Report maintenance issues, damaged linen, and equipment faults promptly, and follow up to ensure resolution
• Assist the Accommodation Management team with scheduling, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Linen Porter function
• Promote a positive team culture while ensuring all health, safety, and hotel policies are consistently adhered to.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Accommodation Manager or senior management team.
