Job summary

Lakeville Area Schools Lifeguard position focuses on supervising the aquatics area to ensure safety and assist swimmers. You will oversee open swim, lessons, and private rentals while staying current on required training and certifications.

The role requires the ability to work with students, parents and staff, and to follow directions precisely. This is a community education setting with opportunities to contribute to student well‑being and program quality.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or proof of Lifeguard class enrollment.
• Previous experience with swimming desired.
• Ability to assist students in the water.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, co-workers and supervisor.
• Ability to follow directions and follow through on tasks.

Responsibilities

Position Description

Lifeguard

• The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising the aquatics area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and respond to emergencies.

• Lifeguard is required to attend and complete all training and in-services, and expected to keep certifications current.
