Job summary

You will support ISMS and compliance, manage external counsel, review contracts, data protection, and employment law while balancing risk with commercial objectives. A Law Degree and professional qualification are required, with strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Law degree or equivalent required.
• Professional qualification from the Law Society, King's Inns, Irish Institute of Legal Executives, or equivalent.
• Strong experience providing legal advice in a commercial, corporate, regulatory, or in-house legal environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused legal advice and guidance to the business.
• Advise on commercial and corporate contracts, procurement matters, and general agreements.
• Support legal, regulatory, governance, and compliance activities across the organisation.
• Review and advise on matters relating to data protection, employment law, consumer protection, company law, and litigation.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as required.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and proactively update legal documentation and policies.
• Support the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and wider compliance initiatives.

We are seeking a Legal Specialist / Counsel to join our Legal & Regulatory Affairs team on a 6-month fixed term contract. In this role, you will provide practical, business-focused legal advice and support across a broad range of legal and regulatory matters, helping the business achieve its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused legal advice and guidance to the business.
• Advise on commercial and corporate contracts, procurement matters, and general agreements.
• Support legal, regulatory, governance, and compliance activities across the organisation.
• Review and advise on matters relating to private medical insurance, member policies, data protection, employment law, consumer protection, company law, and litigation
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as required
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and proactively update legal documentation and policies.
• Support the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and wider compliance initiatives.

About You

You will be a qualified legal professional with:

• A Law Degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Professional qualification from the Law Society, King's Inns, Irish Institute of Legal Executives, or equivalent.
• Strong experience providing legal advice in a commercial, corporate, regulatory, or in-house legal environment.
