Job summary

Eirkoo is seeking a Senior Commercial Lawyer to join its in-house legal team in Ireland. The role reports to the General Counsel / Chief Risk Officer and focuses on a broad range of commercial contracting matters, including engagement agreements, tenders, supplier IT contracts, and master service agreements.

You will provide prudent legal risk assessments, guide engagement teams, horizon scan for service line needs, and offer practical training.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years' PQE or equivalent.
• Entitled to practise law in Ireland.
• Experience in commercial contract management and negotiation.
• Strong organisational, planning and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support engagement teams on a broad range of commercial contracting matters, including engagement agreements, tenders, third-party supplier agreements (including IT contracts), and master service agreements.
• Engage proactively with allocated service lines to identify, assess and evaluate legal risk and provide prudent, commercial and creative solutions.
• Horizon scan and proactively engage with each service line to understand their requirements from the in-house legal team, including providing practical guidance and training where required; and
• Exercising excellent commercial and legal judgment.
• Support commercial contract work across the business, including supplier contracts;
• Contribute to ad hoc internal legal team and risk group projects, potentially including corporate acquisitions; and
• Provide legal support to the Irish business and/or the wider international network on commercial, governance, compliance and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting engagement teams on a broad range of commercial contracting matters, including engagement agreements, public and private sector tenders, third-party supplier agreements (including IT contracts), and master service agreements;
• Engaging proactively with allocated service lines to identify, assess and evaluate legal risk and provide prudent, commercial and creative solutions;
• Horizon scanning and proactively engaging with each service line to understand their requirements from the in-house legal team, including providing practical guidance and training where required; and
• Exercising excellent commercial and legal judgment.

Skills and Experience

• An enthusiastic solicitor with at least 7 years’ PQE (or equivalent) gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team. Candidates must be entitled to practise law in Ireland;
• Excellent knowledge of legal concepts, together with broad practical experience in commercial contract management and negotiation;
• Excellent organisation and planning skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritise workload and manage competing priorities;
• Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide variety of internal audiences; and
• A positive, can-do attitude, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and build strong relationships.
