Job summary

Cpl Group is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide practical legal advice across employment, commercial, and corporate matters. You will support the business in achieving strategic objectives while managing legal risk and work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

The role is primarily remote, with on-site attendance required during the first week to establish integration and alignment with the team and business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor entitled to practise in Ireland.
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong employment law expertise and experience advising on complex workplace matters.
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Sound understanding of corporate governance principles and practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice across employment law matters and HR processes.
  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts and supplier agreements.
  • Support corporate governance matters, regulatory compliance, and board/committee governance requirements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal solutions.
  • Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments relevant to the organisation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor to provide practical legal advice across a diverse range of employment, commercial, and corporate matters, supporting the business in achieving its strategic objectives while managing legal risk.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, delivering high-quality legal guidance and contributing to key business initiatives.

This position will be mainly remote - with on site required for 1st week

Key Responsibilities
Employment Law
  • Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of employment law matters.
  • Support HR and business leaders through disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Advise on workplace investigations, organisational change programmes, restructuring initiatives, and employee relations matters.
  • Provide guidance on data protection and privacy issues arising in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish employment legislation and best practice.
Commercial Contracts
  • Negotiate, review, draft, and advise on a wide variety of commercial agreements.
  • Support procurement activities through the preparation and negotiation of supplier and service agreements.
  • Draft and review intragroup, outsourcing, and supply chain contracts.
  • Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks while enabling business objectives.
Corporate Governance
  • Provide legal support on corporate governance matters and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with board and committee governance requirements.
  • Support corporate reporting obligations and subsidiary management activities.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
General Legal Support
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver pragmatic and commercially focused legal solutions.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the organisation.
  • Provide support across other legal disciplines as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential
  • Qualified Solicitor entitled to practise in Ireland.
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong employment law expertise and experience advising on complex workplace matters.
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Sound understanding of corporate governance principles and practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
