Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Learning Coordinator to drive day-to-day delivery of the Academy and related development initiatives. You will coordinate programmes, manage schedules, facilitators, venues, travel and virtual delivery logistics to keep learning experiences engaging and professional.

Working with the Group Talent team and HR colleagues, you will administer learning data, support platforms, and contribute to new development programmes in a fast-paced global environment.

Qualifications

  • Five years of work experience in a business administration environment.
  • HR experience is an advantage but not essential; interest in HR and L&D.
  • Experience using virtual learning technologies (Teams, Zoom) and collaboration platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage schedules, budgets, venues and communications.

Responsibilities

About the role

This role is central to the day-to-day delivery of the Smurfit Westrock Academy and wider learning and development initiatives. The successful candidate will coordinate programmes from start to finish, managing schedules, participant communications, facilitators, vendors, venues, travel, accommodation and virtual delivery logistics. They will ensure programmes run smoothly and provide an engaging and professional experience for participants.

Working closely with colleagues across the Group Talent team, local HR teams and business experts, the Learning Coordinator will oversee programme administration, maintain learning data and reporting, support learning platforms and contribute to the rollout of new development programmes. This role is well suited to someone who is highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented, enjoys solving problems and building relationships, and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced global environment.

Key Deliverables for the role are as follows:
Coordinate SW Academy programmes (online and in person)
  • Responsible for coordinating all SW Academy programmes; scheduling & liaising with speakers, booking and preparing training facilities, evening events, hotel rooms etc. Managing all logistics.
  • Establishing systems and procedures to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all programmes including identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and learner experiences.
  • Managing budget and all invoicing etc. related to the SW Academy
Manage the online and virtual experience for all SW Academy programmes
  • Using new technologies to support the experience of our SW Academy participants, support the development and delivery of relevant content and high-quality learning resources to ensure high levels of learner engagement and achievement of learning outcomes in an online environment.
Data Management
  • Data management for all Group Learning and Development programmes & initiatives.
  • Responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reporting.
Talent and Development Projects
  • Involvement in additional projects within the Talent and Leadership Development team and the broader HR team as required.
To be successful in this role you will have
  • General Education: Business or social sciences education.
  • 5 Years work experience post education in a business administration environment.
  • HR experience is an advantage but not essential. An interest in HR and learning and development is essential.
  • Experience in using technology to enhance business outcomes is an essential. Comfortable using virtual learning technologies such as Teams, Zoom and collaboration platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills required.
  • Strong ability to plan, coordinate and execute multiple learning programmes simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail in managing schedules, logistics, budgets, venues, travel arrangements and communications.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in Spanish or another European language is an advantage.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with participants, facilitators, subject matter experts, vendors, HR colleagues and external partners.
  • Confidence in working with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups across different countries and cultures.
  • Ability to analyse learning data, track participation and completion rates, and produce meaningful insights
