Job summary

AbbVie in Ireland seeks a Manager, Visual Inspection Biologics, 1st Shift, to lead the coding, visual inspection and vacuum operations at the Westport site, ensuring safe, compliant and timely production.

You will coach and develop team members, run daily and weekly meetings, translate schedules into shift priorities, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to maintain product flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or science.
• 5+ years of experience in a GMP‑regulated function with people‑leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of visual inspection materials and processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the visual inspection team and maintain accountability for safety, quality, compliance, delivery and cost.
• Provide visible leadership, set expectations and promote open communication and accountability.
• Run daily and weekly meetings to review production schedule, staffing and priorities; communicate decisions.
• Translate the schedule into shift priorities and coordinate resources.
• Coach and develop team members through regular feedback and training; support onboarding.
• Maintain effective cross-functional alignment with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain.
• Ensure operations meet GMP requirements and regulatory expectations.
• Develop and review visual inspection limits and related documentation.
