Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to design and implement secure data management in the public cloud, focusing on Data & AI/ML services. You will play a key role in protecting data, conducting security reviews, and ensuring robust controls are in place.

You will collaborate with data protection experts and governance teams to strengthen cloud security and resilience, influencing security practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated cloud security experience across IAM, encryption, logging, and network security.
• Hands-on AWS security work and governance, including secure data management in the cloud.
• Familiarity with Data Analytics/AI/ML, Generative AI, and LLMs is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk and control strategies for Data & AI/ML in the public cloud.
• Oversee risk-based assessments of technology controls for cloud services and architecture.
• Advise business tech teams on control requirements across cloud architectures.
• Review infrastructure-as-code for alignment with security standards.
• Develop and maintain security documentation and support agile processes.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate with operations, threat intelligence, IAM, and networking.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.

Job Summary

As a Lead Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls Data Management team, you will design and implement secure data management systems in the public cloud. You will play a key role in protecting data, performing security reviews, and ensuring robust controls are in place. You will collaborate with experts in data protection and governance, contributing to a culture of security and innovation. Your work will directly impact the safety and resilience of our cloud-based services.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the execution and continuous improvement of information risk and control strategies for Data & AI/ML services in the public cloud
• Conduct and oversee risk-based assessments of technology controls for Data & AI/ML cloud services, platforms, and architecture
• Advise and guide business technology teams on control requirements and best practices across diverse cloud architectures
• Review and provide feedback on infrastructure-as-code for cloud platform development, ensuring alignment with security standards
• Develop and maintain documentation, and contribute to agile processes supporting security initiatives
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure seamless integration with security operations, threat intelligence, IAM, and network security
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Demonstrate practical experience and knowledge in cloud security concepts and best practices, including IAM, encryption, network security, and logging
• Apply hands-on experience in AWS with a focus on security
• Show interest and experience in Data Analytics & AI/ML, including Generative AI and LLMs
• Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Hold AWS certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Professional/Associate, or AWS Data Engineer Associate
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with cloud engineering, architecture, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, etc.)
• Display familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and agile methodologies
• Bring experience mentoring or training junior staff
• Show familiarity with SaaS data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks
