Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. seeks an experienced Characterization / Evaluation Engineer – Reader Systems in Limerick, Ireland. You will lead system-level characterization, define test plans, and validate performance across electrical, mechanical, optical, and fluidic domains.

You will drive reliability testing, develop fixtures and automation, and support manufacturing validation for external builds while serving as an independent verifier across design teams.

Qualifications

• Strong background in hardware/system characterization or evaluation.
• Experience with multi-domain systems (electronics, mechanics, sensors).
• Strong capability in test development, measurement systems, and data analysis.
• Experience with reliability testing and root cause analysis.
• Experience with test automation and fixture development.
• Analytical tools (Python, MATLAB, Excel or equivalent).
• Electronics Design (Schematic and layout).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reader characterization strategy (system and sub-system).
• Define test plans, methods, and acceptance criteria aligned to requirements.
• Execute validation across electrical, mechanical, optical, and fluidic domains.
• Lead reliability testing (lifetime, stress, environmental) and failure analysis.
• Develop test fixtures, rigs, and automation for repeatable data capture.
• Support FAI and manufacturing validation for external builds.
• Act as an independent verification function across design teams.
