Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. in Limerick, Ireland seeks a Characterization / Evaluation Engineer – Reader Systems to lead system-level characterization of complex electromechanical instrument platforms for the Biosensors Team.

You will own test definition, execution, and analysis to validate performance and readiness for manufacturing. You will define test plans, execute validation across electrical, mechanical, optical, and fluidic domains, and drive reliability testing and fixture development.

Qualifications

• Strong background in hardware/system characterization or evaluation.
• Experience with multi-domain systems (electronics, mechanics, sensors).
• Test development, measurement systems, and data analysis experience.
• Experience with reliability testing and root cause analysis.
• Experience with test automation and fixture development.
• Proficiency with analytical tools (Python, MATLAB, Excel or equivalent).
• Electronics design involving schematic and layout.
• Desirable: C/C++ Embedded experience; medical device or regulated product exposure.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reader characterization strategy (system and sub-system).
• Define test plans, methods, and acceptance criteria aligned to requirements.
• Execute validation across electrical, mechanical, optical, and fluidic domains.
• Lead reliability testing (lifetime, stress, environmental) and failure analysis.
• Develop test fixtures, rigs, and automation for repeatable data capture.
• Support FAI and manufacturing validation for external builds.
• Act as an independent verification function across design teams.
