Job summary

Murphy International Limited is recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our infrastructure team for a major water project with United Utilities as part of the AMP8 programme in Ireland. We work with leading water clients across the UK & Ireland and operate over 25 facilities under DBOM contracts.

A day in the life includes preparing valuations, cost reporting, subcontract management, and contract administration, with emphasis on change management and risk identification.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree qualification required.
• Proven experience in a commercial role (Assistant QS or QS).
• RICS/ICES registration and working towards chartership.
• Knowledge of NEC and standard forms of contract; understanding of Standard Methods of Measurement.

Responsibilities

• Aid in internal commercial reporting.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full documentation.
• Control cost reports to the client with contract documentation.
• Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration including change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Use cost allocation/coding per internal/external requirements.
• Measurement of quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
• Assist in preparation of project final accounts.
• Draft subcontracts including professional services.
