Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Swords, Co. Dublin, to join our Transportation & Infrastructure team on a major project. The role covers cost control, procurement, and commercial management across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate holds a Quantity Surveying degree (RICS Accredited) with 6+ years of civil/transport experience, MRICS desirable, and strong MS Office skills. Full driving license required; site-based with extensive reporting duties.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics (RICS Accredited).
• MRICS or equivalent (desirable).
• Full driving license.
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of PWC forms of contract.
• Knowledge of TII method of Measurement.
• 6+ years experience in civil/transport projects.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Civil engineering experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bottom up forecasts at contract award stage.
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Draft supply chain ITTs and subcontracts terms.
• Ensure month-end cost-to-date accuracy and accruals.
• Maintain Cost to Complete and Risk analysis register.
• Prepare monthly CVR reports and other project reporting.
• Maximise cash position including WIP control and cash flow improvement.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, VE and change.
• Administer contracts and change management.
• Prepare valuations and payment applications with supporting docs.
• Support site team with work-winning duties and PQQ responses.
• Ensure insurance issues and PI addressed.
