Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Ireland. The role focuses on commercial leadership, valuations, cost control, and contract administration across projects.

You will manage subcontract/ supplier accounts, prepare final accounts, and drive value engineering while working towards chartership with RICS/ICES. A competitive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a commercial role (e.g., Assistant QS or Quantity Surveyor).
• Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract and measurement methods.

Responsibilities

• Aid in internal commercial reporting and any other reports required.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full documentation.
• Control cost reports to the client with contractually compliant documentation.
• Prepare subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration including change management and registers.

Murphy is recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team

A day in the life of a Murphy Quantity Surveyor

• Aid in the internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
• Prepare Valuations/Applications for Payment with full documentation in accordance with the contract
• Control of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant documentation
• Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring, and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
• Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
• Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.
• Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
• Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
• Drafting of subcontracts including professional services.

• Proven experience within a Commercial role i.e., Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or a similar role.
• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
• Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract, NEC preferable together with Standard Methods of Measurement
