Job summary

RGH-Global Limited seeks a Principal Social Worker to join a long-standing disability services organisation in Galway. You will provide strategic leadership to the Social Work Team, lead safeguarding governance, and oversee quality, compliance, and staff development across multiple sites.

The role focuses on rights-based practice, regulatory compliance with HIQA and CORU, and strong partnership with families and statutory agencies. A postgraduate leadership qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification recognised under Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005.
• Eligibility for CORU registration.
• Minimum five years' post-qualification Social Worker experience.
• Experience with children/adults with intellectual disabilities or complex needs.
• Postgraduate leadership/management qualification.
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the Social Work Team.
• Lead safeguarding policy and liaison with statutory bodies (Tusla, HSE, An Garda Síochána, HIQA).
• Provide professional supervision and guidance to social workers.
• Ensure social work interventions meet professional standards and best practices.
• Lead audits, quality improvement, and governance related to social work and safeguarding.
• Develop safeguarding and social work training programmes; support workforce planning and recruitment.
• Represent the organisation at external forums and stakeholder engagements.
